Introduction
In the Mha universe, there is no specific country that represents our world. The stories take place in a number of different locations, each with their own unique culture and history. Here are some of the places you might find in the Mha movies.
The MHA Universe
My Hero Academia or MHA is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. The series has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters additionally collected into twenty-three tankōbon volumes as of January 2021. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where they are the norm, but who still dreams of becoming a superhero himself, and is scouted by the world’s greatest hero who shares his powers with Izuku after recognizing his value and enrolls him in a high school for heroes in training.
The series has been licensed for English-language release by Viz Media and began serialization in their weekly digital magazine Shonen Jump on February 9, 2015. The first collected volume was published on June 2, 2015. My Hero Academia is one of the best-selling manga series of all time having sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
MHA takes place in a world where people with superpowers, known as “quirks”, are the norm and superheroes fight against villains to protect the innocent. The vast majority of humans in this world are born with these quirks, which manifest themselves in unique ways; however, there is a small percentage of humans who do not develop quirks. Izuku Midoriya is one such person; as he was born without a quirk, he was often bullied by his classmates and looked down upon by society. One day, he meets All Might—the strongest superhero in the world—and discovers that he too has the power to become a hero if he can just find the courage within himself. Thus begins Izuku’s journey to become the greatest hero ever!

The MHA movies are set in a world where superpowers, known as “Quirks”, have become commonplace among humans. The story follows the adventures of Izuku Midoriya, a young boy who dreams of becoming a superhero himself, and his friends as they learn to use their Quirks to fight against evil.
The first movie, My Hero Academia: The Movie – The Two Heroes, was released in 2018 and took place in the fictional city of I-Island, where Izuku and his friends met All Might, the world’s greatest superhero. The second movie, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, was released in 2019 and took place on the remote Nabu Island, where the students of Class 1-A faced off against a group of villains seeking to steal Quirks for themselves.
Both movies are set in the same universe as the My Hero Academia anime series and feature many of the same characters. However, there are some differences between the two versions of the story. For example, in Heroes Rising, Izuku gains a new Quirk called “float” which allows him to levitate and travel great distances. This power is not seen in the anime series.
