Introduction

Jolt is a 2017 American thriller film directed by Martin imparato. The film was shot in various locations in New York state.

The Plot

Jolt is a 2007 action comedy film directed by A.B. Stone and starring Angus Macfadyen, Minutes into the film, Macfadyen’s character, Nick Kelson, is informed by his boss that the company he works for is being taken over and that he will be out of a job in two weeks. Kelson angrily storms out of the office, driving erratically and ranting to himself. His car is hit by a truck, which throws him through the windshield. The next thing he knows, he wakes up in a hospital bed with his wife at his side and no recollection of how he got there.

As Kelson tries to piece together what happened to him, he discovers that he has developed the ability to generate static electricity. He also finds that he is now able to control machines with his mind. He soon realizes that these new abilities could be used to take revenge on those who have wronged him in the past.

With the help of his new powers, Kelson sets out to get even with those who have made him angry. Along the way, he discovers that his newfound abilities come with a price: each time he uses them, they take a little bit more of his humanity away.

The Jolt Movie was filmed in various locations across the United States. The opening scenes were shot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The majority of the film was shot in Los Angeles, California. New Orleans, Louisiana was also used as a filming location.

The Sets

Most of Jolt was filmed in and around Los Angeles, California. The opening shots of the film are of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) near Big Sur. The first gas station stop is at the Todos Santos Plaza in Concord, CA. The movie was also filmed at various other locations in Contra Costa County, including the Buchanan Field Airport in Concord and the Mt. Diablo State Park.

The Costumes

Jolt was filmed on location in Texas and Louisiana. The costumes worn by the actors are appropriate to the time period and to the location. The colors are subdued, and the style is plain. There are no frills or fancy embellishments. The clothes look like they could have been purchased at a local store or made at home.

The Props

The cameraman did an amazing job at hiding the wire in Jolt’s shirt, but it is possible to see it in a few scenes. When they were filming in the park, they used a real life dog instead of a prop and you can see the leash. In some shots, you can also see the camera crew and other actors in the background.

The Music

The music used in Jolt was composed by John Ottman. Ottman is a highly regarded composer who has worked on a number of films, including The Usual Suspects and Superman Returns. He is also a skilled editor, and has edited a number of films directed by Bryan Singer, including The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie.

The Release

On June 10, 1985, Jolt was released in the United States. It grossed $1.1 million in its opening weekend and eventually made $5 million domestically.
