With the release of the new Star Wars movie, “The Last Jedi,” many parents are wondering if it is appropriate for their children. We break down the content of each movie and give our recommendations.

“The Phantom Menace”
“The Phantom Menace” is the first movie in the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy. It was released in 1999 and is rated PG-13 for science fiction action/violence.
“Attack of the Clones”
“Attack of the Clones” is the second movie in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. It was released in 2002 and is rated PG-13.
“Revenge of the Sith”
The last of the Star Wars movies to be released, “Revenge of the Sith” is also the only one that has a PG-13 rating. Though it may be surprising to some, this movie is actually significantly more violent than its predecessors. In addition to the numerous fight scenes, there are several scenes of character death and destruction. As a result, this movie is not suitable for young children.
“The Empire Strikes Back”
“The Empire Strikes Back” is the second movie in the “Star Wars” series, and it is rated PG-13. This movie features intense action sequences, as well as scenes of peril and violence.
“Return of the Jedi”
“Return of the Jedi” is the only Star Wars movie that is rated PG-13.
“The Force Awakens”
The latest Star Wars movie, “The Last Jedi,” is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America. This means that it may be inappropriate for young children, as it contains violence and intense action sequences. The other two movies in the current trilogy, “The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi,” are also rated PG-13. The previous six movies in the series are all rated PG.
“The Last Jedi”
Most of the “Star Wars” movies are rated PG, but there are a few that are rated PG-13. “The Last Jedi” is one of those movies. While it may be suitable for some children, it is important to note that there are some scenes that may be too intense or graphic for younger viewers.
“The Rise of Skywalker”
The Rise of Skywalker is the most recent Star Wars movie and it is rated PG-13.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story”
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is the only Star Wars movie that is rated PG-13. All of the other Star Wars movies are rated PG or higher.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is the first Star Wars movie to be rated PG-13. The previous six movies were all rated PG or PG-13.
