The Ending
The ending of the Demon Slayer movie is a heart-wrenching one, to say the least. Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist of the story, loses his sister Nezuko and his entire family to Muzan Kibutsuji, the demon who slayed them. In order to avenge his family and protect those he loves, Tanjiro sets out on a journey to become a demon slayer himself.

The Aftermath
As the credits roll, we are shown what happened to the main characters after the final battle. In short, Tanjiro and his friends all survive, but with heavy casualties. Millions of people were killed by the demon curse, including all of Tanjiro’s family except for his sister Nezuko. Tanjiro himself is left with permanent physical and emotional scars. All of his friends are grieving heavily over the loss of their families and friends.
