“The Pursuit of Happyness”
“The Pursuit of Happyness” is a 2006 American biographical drama film based on entrepreneur Christopher Gardner’s nearly one-year struggle being homeless. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, the film features Will Smith as Gardner, a San Francisco salesman. The screenplay by Steven Conrad is based on the best-selling 2006 book The Pursuit of Happyness by Chris Gardner with Quincy Troupe.
The film was released on December 15, 2006, by Columbia Pictures and Smith’s production company Overbrook Entertainment. Into the early 1980s, Gardner pursued several entrepreneurial ventures, ranging from selling medical equipment to working as a stockbroker. In 1982, he invested over $1,000 in bone-density scanners after meeting a salesman who promised high returns. However, it is revealed that the salesman actually sold bogus equipment and that Gardner’s $1,000 investment quickly dwindled to almost nothing.

The film also stars Bridget Moynahan, James Cromwell, Bruce Greenwood, Chi McBride, Alan Tudyk, and Shia LaBeouf. “I, Robot” was released in the United States on July 16, 2004. It received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed $347 million worldwide.
