Why We Love (and Hate) Will Smith Movies
Will Smith is one of the most popular and successful actors in Hollywood. He has starred in some of the biggest box office hits of all time, including ‘Independence Day’, ‘Men in Black’ and ‘Hancock’. But not all of his movies have been well received by critics. In fact, some of his movies have been downright terrible.
So what is it about Will Smith that makes him so loveable? And why do his movies sometimes miss the mark? Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why we love (and hate) Will Smith movies.
The good:
-Will Smith is a charismatic and likeable actor. He has a great sense of humor and is always fun to watch on screen.
-He tends to choose roles that are outside of his comfort zone, which keeps things interesting. For example, he played a villain in ‘Collateral Beauty’ and a con man in ‘Focus’.
-He is usually surrounded by a stellar cast, which elevates even the mediocre films he’s in.
The bad:
-His films are often too predictable and formulaic. We know exactly what we’re going to get from a Will Smith movie before we even see it.
-He tends to play the same character in every film, which can get tiresome after awhile.
-Some of his films are just plain bad (looking at you, ‘After Earth’).
